WHAT THE BURSARY DOES The Amos Bursary Boys selects boys at the ageof 16 (First year 6th Form) and they stay with us for the durationof their University experience. Throughout the 4 ½ years theyparticipate in an intensive programme of personal and professionaldevelopment. We make sure they are prepared to tackle withdetermination the challenges that will come their way. We teachthem how to be flexible in their thinking and approach to work, howto face the unknown with confidence and enthusiasm and provide themwith the best social and ‘people’ skills to survive and thrive intheir adult lives. HOW WE DO IT The most crucial and unique elementof The Amos Bursary programme is our focus on individual attentionfor each student. Support is provided to our boys throughmentorship schemes. This is in the form of access to their personalpeer mentor and professional mentor who are volunteers and comefrom a range of disciplines and backgrounds. They also receive anannual grant of £500.00 while at university unless they securescholarships. Preparation is paramount and The Amos Bursary boysare required to attend workshops, meetings and seminars. Everythingat The Amos Bursary is done to encourage and inspire in a positiveand fun atmosphere.
